Happy New Year! Toronto has a good crop of winter markets to visit this month. As more people develop enthusiasm for eating locally through the seasons, market farmers and vendors are working to increase the quantity and variety of Ontario winter foods available. Let’s keep it growing!

Everdale Organic Farm & Learning Centre will be presenting a workshop on “The Lost Art of Canning” at FoodShare (90 Croatia Street, Toronto) on Saturday January 15th. Once again, the last weekend of January is the time for many farmers and organic food enthusiasts to meet for workshops, speakers, a trade show and lots of discussion at the Guelph Organic Conference, and reps from Toronto’s markets will be taking part.
