Strike News

A city strike in the middle of strawberry season is a devastating thing for our farmers.  While markets in parking lots can continue as usual, the majority of Toronto’s farmers’ markets are affected by this strike. Markets at Civic Centres (East York, Etobicoke, Nathan Philips, Metro Hall, North York) are canceled at present, though work is underway to see if temporary options for them can be found.
Park-based markets are operating, some in slightly altered locations, all without any city services.

We are hoping for a fair and rapid resolution to the strike.  In the meantime, please come out to the markets that are open and show your support.
